MALDINI: ‘Crowd’s reception was great’

Paolo Maldini was back on the field tonight after a long absence.
He said: ‘The crowd’s reception really made me feel great, but above anything else I am happy to be back playing with my team. I am not used to being out and it was difficult. I hope that my physical problems are behind me.
I can’t yet play for a whole game. I will have to play to get back into shape. The team are doing well. This point of the season is fundamental. We are patient. We suffered a bit in the first half, but then we fought for this win.
We are finishing the league on a good beat and our points show this. We must acknowledge Juve for what they have done, but we have also done a lot. After a difficult moment, we are back at our usual level.’
